Art Day

Today the whole school took part in Art Day, an opportunity for the children to practise their artistic skills and prepare an art gallery for family and friends at the end of the day.

Foundation Stage were inspired by Mondrian’s famous compositions using primary colours.

Year 1 were inspired by the work of Paul Cezanne.

Year 2 studies some of David Hockney’s work.

Year 3 found out more about the art of Bridget Riley.

Year 4 took on the challenge of Joseph Wright’s work on light and shade.

Year 5 learned all about Damien Hirst.

And year 6 were getting in touch with nature through Jackie Morris’s artwork.

A huge thank you to you to everyone for coming to view the children’s work. It really means a lot and it was wonderful to see the school hall so busy.

Thank you too to the St. Benedict’s students who helped throughout the day.
